Minerals Species: Beryl var. Heliodor.
Location of mineral deposit: Teofilo Otoni, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Description: Gemmy crystal of heliodor, the yellow gem variety of the mineral beryl, with prismatic hexagonal form and tapering termination. The termination zone is translucent because of hollow tube formations that resulted where growth of the beryl was interrupted. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 28x10x5 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 28 mm.
Price: $40 (plus shipping).
